YRG CARE has structured a truly comprehensive HIV Care model that addresses care and support requirements of people affected with HIV at multiple service points.
 
 
Objective
1.  to offer stigma-free voluntary, confidential and/or anonymous, HIV counselling and testing
2. to provide people living with HIV and their friends/families psychological and social      support
3.  to give continuum care for people living with HIV/AIDS in a user friendly atmosphere

Counselling Services: Pre and post test counseling ,follow-up counselling including nutritional counselling, family counselling, marital counselling ,fertility counselling, drug adherence counselling, grief and terminal counselling. General funds and community donations. We charge no fees for psychosocial support or counselling. Highlights:
  • Early and meaningful emphasis on social support and counselling continues.
  • Counselling services successfully expanded between 1994 and 2002.
  • Relevance and importance of follow-up counselling as a means for preventing secondary prevention of HIV being understood and offered.
  • Publication of a self-care manual "Dances of the Sunflower" for persons living with HIV or their friends and families.
  • A user friendly facility that offers anonymity for patients through the use of an alpha-numeric system of patient codes.
     
  • Very competent, committed and professional multidisciplinary team trained in the US and Scotland (since 1996).
     
  • One among handful facilities in India that provides comprehensive and integrated services. Over 5000 patients are being followed-up since 1994.
     
  • Significant symptom control at low cost and Focus on OI treatment and prophylaxis.
  • Over 15% of patients are on HAART. Special emphasis is given to financial counselling to ensure use of ART if affordable, or not at all.
     
  • A successful Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV programme.
     
  • A consortium of consultants to address specialized clinical problems.
