Early and meaningful emphasis on social support and counselling
continues.
- Counselling
services successfully expanded since its year of inception.
- Relevance
and importance of follow-up counselling as a means for
preventing secondary prevention of HIV being understood
and offered.
- Publication
of a self-care manual "Dances of the Sunflower" for persons
living with HIV or their friends and families.
- A
user friendly facility that offers anonymity for patients
through the use of an alpha-numeric system of patient
codes.
- Very
competent, committed and professional multidisciplinary
team trained in the US and Scotland (since 1996).
- One among handful facilities in India that provides comprehensive and integrated services. Over 17,000 patients have registered for the services of YRGCARE since 1994.

Significant symptom control at low cost and Focus on OI
treatment and prophylaxis.

Over 15% of patients are on HAART. Special emphasis is
given to financial counselling to ensure use of ART if
affordable, or not at all.

A successful Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission
