Spencer
Plaza is a one of a kind landmark in Chennai, and
boasts to be the biggest shopping mall in India. On
weekends, a floating crowd of about 30,000 people
come to shop and relax in this mega mall. On Saturday,
December 3rd, YRG CARE mingled with the crowd and
got them involved in issues relating to HIV/AIDS.
In the main atrium, a puppet show was conducted which
became the star attraction. There were skits performed
that brought out positive messages and attitudes in
relation to the sensitive topics on HIV/AIDS. |

T-shirts
bearing the red ribbon were given away to people who
answered rightly to the many questions on the pandemic.
The giant condom once again made its presence felt
in another shopping mall at Ispani Centre, where a
like program was conducted. On the following day,
the security and maintenance staff of Spencer Plaza
requested for a closed door program exclusive for
their 150 odd staff. This session helped clear many
misconceptions that the employees earlier had. |
