Dr.
Suniti Solomon Appointed Member,
Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission
The Tamil Nadu government has appointed Dr.
Suniti Solomon, Director, YRG CARE, as a member of
its State Planning Commission. Dr. Suniti is entrusted
with attending to planning and allocation of funds
for health programmes in the State.

The
first meeting of the Planning Commission was held
on Monday, June 05, 2006 after the new government
had taken over in the State. The Union Government
of India has allotted Rs. 12000 crore (Rs. 1200 million)
for the overall planning in the Tamil Nadu and Dr.
Suniti is hopeful that a substantial amount can be
utilised for health programmes with accent on HIV/AIDS. |
