We are proud to be working in partnership
with the YR Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research and Education
(YRG CARE), in Chennai, India. Since 1992, YRG CARE has been
tirelessly combating the effects of AIDS and HIV throughout
India and has also begun to receive global recognition. Almost
a year ago, we first began discussions with YRG CARE about
an idea they had to develop a Community Kitchen at the centre
in India. Since then we have continued to express a great
interest in this specific initiative. Every day, the Community
Kitchen Project (CKP) will deliver meals to 3,000 needy people,
throughout India's fourth largest city.
The kitchen will provide many skilled employment opportunities
for chefs and cooks. However, following production, families
affected by AIDS and HIV will also be employed to distribute
meals. The CKP will also implement various public health awareness
campaigns, such as healthy eating. Unfortunately, initiatives
like this require capital and we have decided to endeavour
to raise as much money as possible in the UK towards this
noble cause. The YRG CARE UK Appeal was born. We are certain
that you will recognise the importance of this appeal and
the valuable contribution that it will make to the people
of Chennai.
Thank you,
