 YRG
CARE is affiliated to the University of Madras in facilitating
students to pursue their doctorate studies in Microbiology.
The centre has 8 faculties/scientists with Ph.D/MD/DSC qualifications
guiding students for PhD. programme and currently 7 candidates
are pursuing the course. The faculties are also involved in
training technical and scientific personnel in the area of
Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), Bio-Safety procedures
and the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases and medical
microbiology. Recently, our lab has developed Guidelines for
HIV Diagnosis and Monitoring of Antiretroviral Therapy for
the WHO/South East Asia Regional countries (WHO/13209235581
SEARO) in collaboration with other National and International
experts/scientists.
Eligibility for the PhD
Programme at YRG CARE:
Those who have completed Post Graduate Degree in Medical Microbiology
/ Applied Microbiology / Molecularbiology / Biotechnology
from the College / Deemed University (Recognized by UGC, New
Delhi) and completed the National Eligibility Test (NET) for
the independent fellowship / scholarship can apply. The following
