OVERVIEW
Our Vision:
People with HIV and AIDS and their families live with dignity, and
there are no new HIV infections.
Our Mission:
To respond to needs of people who are not receiving care and support
or education/information for HIV.
Our Objectives:
- To build awareness of HIV infection and promote safe and responsible
behaviour in the community.
- To provide all people access to a non-coercive and non-stigmatized
counseling, testing and continuum of care.
- To maintain and develop YRG CARE's human resources, physical
infrastructure and organizational systems.
- Advocate for individual rights and policies for a non-judgmental,
supportive environment for people living with HIV and AIDS and
people affected by the epidemic.

In 2002, YRG CARE moved to a larger premises housing integrated facilities
for Project and Field offices, Learning Resources Centre, Laboratory,
Drug Centre, Counseling and Training units. The Tamil Nadu Foundation
(USA), The Heritage Round Table 124 and a number of other donors
have helped us in our effort to build this additional space.
Institution of Learning
The University of Madras, in the year 2001, recognized YRG CARE as
a centre for Ph.D candidates to pursue their research interests.
Commitment to Quality
YRG CARE is in the process of qualifying for certification under
the ISO 9000 standards for all our program areas, research, human
resource development and administrative functions.
Information Technology
We invested in a HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (HMS) that would bridge
the laboratory, drug centre, administration and clinical services
functions.
Human Resources
YRG CARE human resources are highly committed, capable and qualified
to respond to the HIV pandemic. The number of persons working at
YRG CARE has significantly grown over the past five years. YRG CARE
endeavours to duly recognize all human resources and to continually
offer opportunities for their advancement and skill development.
