| The WE ALL HAVE AIDS Campaign
is a show of solidarity among, and an acknowledgment of, many
of the world’s most accomplished, devoted and inspiring
AIDS activists and scientists of the last 20 years. Barefoot
and determined, each participant has left a meaningful mark
in cement, but more importantly in the fight against HIV/AIDS
and the destructive STIGMA associated with this devastating
disease. |

In 1986,
Dr. Suniti Solomon
and her colleagues were the first to discover
the AIDS virus in India. As a Professor of Microbiology,
AIDS Research Cell, Chennei Medical College, and
Director of Centre for AIDS Research and Education,
Solomon has worked extensively on HIV/AIDS from
that day on. A few of her many complishments in
that time have been establishing both the first
voluntary testing and counselling centre, and
the AIDS Research Group in Chennai. |
